Autumn is such a magical season, and I feel incredibly lucky to get to immerse myself in all things cosy and creative during my day job for one of my lovely clients. While doing some research for them, I stumbled upon so many inspiring ideas for autumn crafts that I couldn’t resist sharing them with you here. I’m sure the cosy community will love these fun and creative projects just as much as I do!
From easy DIY Halloween decorations to charming autumn crafts, these ideas are perfect for bringing a touch of warmth and creativity to your home this season. I’ve been inspired by some of my favourite creators, and I’ve credited them below so you can check out their fantastic work too!
1. Floral Clay Ghost Tea Light Covers

Tutorial by @sibster
This cute and quirky idea is perfect for adding a unique touch to your Halloween decor! Create adorable ghost tea light covers using air-dry clay, then embellish them with pressed flowers for a whimsical twist. I haven’t made these yet, but they’re at the top of my list this year for easy DIY Halloween decorations that are both fun and stylish.
What you’ll need:
– Air dry clay – I like this stuff here.
– Floral napkins – these are cute!
– Mod Podge – a MUST for a crafters cupboard.
– Tea lights
2. Pressed Flower Pumpkin Decorating

Tutorial by @northwoodsfolk
Forget the messy carving and try decorating your Halloween pumpkins with pressed flowers instead! This was my favourite craft from last year, and it’s a beautiful way to combine natural elements with autumn decor. Just glue pressed flowers onto your pumpkins and seal them with a layer of Mod Podge for a stunning, nature-inspired look.
What you’ll need:
– Pressed Flowers – either your own or I love these sets here.
– Mod Podge
– Pumpkins of course! I just got mine from my local market.
3. Bird Feed Wreath

Tutorial by @urbantaproots
Crafting a bird feed wreath is a fantastic group activity and a lovely idea for a girls’ night in. Not only is this wreath a beautiful addition to your outdoor decor, but it’s also functional and kind to wildlife—especially in the colder months when food is scarce. I made these with friends last year, and it was such a rewarding experience!
What you’ll need:
– Natural wreath like this grapevine wreath here.
– Pinecones either foraged or this is a good selection.
– Dried foliage, I got this set here.
– All natural peanut butter, I like this.
– Dried fruits & decorations like this.
– Wire and cutters, I got these.
4. Pressed Flower Lanterns

Tutorial by @northwoodsfolk
This craft is a wonderful way to use the flowers you’ve pressed from summer. These lanterns are easy to make with wax paper, pressed flowers, and a battery-operated tea light. They create a warm, inviting glow that’s perfect for those chilly autumn evenings.
What you’ll need:
– A glass jar
– Pressed Flowers – either your own or I love these sets here.
– Mod Podge
– Tea lights
5. Easy Sock Pumpkins

Tutorial by @fableengland (this is me!)
Last year, sock pumpkins went viral, and I couldn’t resist making my own version using a hair doughnut and cinnamon sticks. They’re quick, fun, and perfect for adding a little autumn charm to your home. Plus, they double as great Halloween DIY projects that even the kids can enjoy!
What you’ll need:
– Socks – these are cute!
– Hair doughnuts, this set of different sizes is perfect.
– Twine.
– Cinnamon sticks.
I hope these cosy craft ideas bring you as much joy as they have brought me! Don’t forget to share your creations—I’d love to see how you bring these easy DIY Halloween decorations, autumn crafts, and clay DIY projects to life!
With love,
Bianca xx
